Marion & Mickaël is a city-dweller young couple who loves vineyards, good wine and nature. To celebrate their wedding they decided to leave Paris and head South-West, in the beautiful wine-growing region of Bordeaux. They were looking for a very special venue, unique, authentic and surrounded by nature. They found it at the Château de la Ligne, not far away from Bordeaux.
The bride’s and bridesmaids dressing and preparation
On this morning, the day started with an incredible sunrise, just like a happy sign for this coming day. Steeped in a fresh and golden sunlight, the castle looks splendid. Upstairs, Marion took possession of her room. The bride’s preparation may now begin. Hair style, manicure and make-up are perfectly taken care of by Chez Les Sœurs. Sitting close to the window in a flowery silk kimono, Marion is enjoying the view on the gardens. Her face bathed in the sunlight, she is calm and patient while the make-up artist underlines her delicate features with a soft hand. A branch of white flowers completes her bun. Bridesmaids are fliting around the room, floating in their silky outfit reminding the bride’s kimono. They are waiting their turn for hair style and make-up. The young ladies are enjoying this moment of friendship and raise their glass of Champagne to this beautiful day.
Cufflinks and First Look photo shoot
On their side, Mickaël and his best men are getting ready in the groom’s room. Dressing has started already, Mickaël is relaxed and lets his friends take care of it. Each one of them contributes to his clothing and gives him an accessory. Bow tie, watch, cufflinks. It is a nice and warm moment of friendship, the atmosphere is solemn but very pleasant. The groom opens a bottle of Champagne and offers a glass to his guests who drink happily, roaring with laughter. In her room, Marion is also getting dressed. Her bridesmaids button up her dress, handle her a jewel, help her put her heels on. The bride is splendid. I can perceive her emotion when she sees herself in the mirror for the first time. Soon the spouse will discover each other. They chose to respect the tradition not to see each other on the day before the wedding. You can feel the tension in the air and read the emotion on their faces as they turn around at the same time. I capture this First Look under the shadow of the trees in front of the castle. Marion puts the buttonhole on Mickaël’s suit. Then the couple heads toward the Arcachon Bay to their parents. A very nice and touching family moment.
The wedding ceremonies
The bride arrives at the Teste de Buch City hall in an old French car, a splendid Deux Chevaux driven by her father. Mickaël enters the City hall with his mother and is warmly welcomed by his guests. Marion joins him and the couple receive thunderous applause lasting long minutes. A great moment of emotion. Then the mayor ,who is the master of ceremony, suddenly decides to let the groom’s best man speak and run the ceremony. He really didn’t expect it, but he seems to enjoy this fun idea and speaks with enthusiasm. It is now time for the religious ceremony. In the superb church with pearly white walls, Marion walks on the aisle with her father. The couple exchange their vows and rings, offer the bouquet the Virgin Mary and sign the register.
A couple photo session at the heart of the vineyard
Back at the castle, guests are enjoying a refreshment, waiting for the cocktail that will mark the beginning of the soirée. The newly-weds decide to escape for a few minutes. A suspended moment just for the two them. It is the perfect opportunity for the couple photo session, far from the crowd and surrounded by the vines bathed in sunlight. When they get back to their guests a surprise is awaiting for them. Their friends have prepared a flash mob! More than 90 people start dancing in the garden for the couple. It is a real party field with laughter. In the reception room, tables are ready and finely arranged with flowers by Fleurs de Mars, who also created the bride’s bouquet. Guests are sitting around the tables and give the couple a triumphant welcome as they enter in the room. Applause, laughs, the room is overflowed with joy. Speeches of the relatives are very moving. One of the best man even unrolled a long parchment and made everybody laugh. There was so much he wanted to say at his friend’s wedding. It is now the opening of the ball. It is only the beginning of a long party night at the castle and guests will dance until late in the night.
